Saint Francis of Assisi Awards
...let us love not in word or speech but in deed and truth (1 John 3:17)
The Saint Francis of Assisi Awards were instituted in 2003 by the Archdiocese of Anchorage to honor individuals who have exemplified the spirit of Saint Francis of Assisi and in honor of Archbishop Francis T. Hurley for his many years of dedicated leadership and service to the local church. The past three award banquets have been wonderful celebrations of this service.
The purpose of these awards is to publicly recognize those individuals and groups whose actions have exemplified Saint Francis of Assisi's spirit of love, humility, and service.
These award recipients have compassionately, generously, and consistently given of their time, talent and treasure for the good of the local Church and of all God's creation.
