How to Report Abuse

We who work with children in the church have an ethical and moral obligation to report real and suspected cases of child abuse.

To make a report upon Disclosure of Abuse or Suspicion of Child Abuse:

Call the Office of Children's Services (OCS) 907-269-4000 or 1-800-478-4444
1. Know child's name and age
2. Perpetrator's name
3. Is the child in immediate danger?
4. Address or child's school
5. Child's phone number
6. Type of Abuse or what the child said in disclosure
7. Any Action you have taken
Note date of report and name of intake person
Complete Archdiocesan Incident Report (Appendix III)
Notify your supervisor (Misconduct Manual, 2004 Ver 7.1)
If the alleged abuse is by an adult bound by the Code of Conduct, report the case to the Archbishop or his representative as well as to Civil Authorities.
Cooperate with investigating authorities
